The Five Doors of Access: An Introduction
This introductory session guides service providers through each of the five dimensions of access: Physical, Sensory, Communication, Emotional, and Relational. Rather than framing accessibility as a compliance obligation, the session invites participants to see inclusion as an act of welcome, asking not whether a space meets a minimum standard but who is being invited in, and whether they can actually get through the door. Participants explore how disability intersects with neurodiversity, invisible disability, and mental health. Activities include a guided self-assessment of participants’ own environments and facilitated peer discussion.
One and a half Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available for participants with social work and professional counseling licenses (LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC). If you would like to request CEUs, you may do so in the evaluation survey sent after completing this training.
