ICOY CARES
CARES is part of ICOY’s comprehensive range of services, distinguished by its unique focus on Collaborative Approaches to Resilience, Education, and Support. CARES is specifically designed around trauma-informed principles and frameworks. These principles not only shape CARES’s strategies, but also guide its approach to forming partnerships, conducting trainings, and enhancing capacity building services. This distinctive emphasis ensures that CARES not only supports but empowers individuals and organizations through a deeply informed and empathetic approach.
CARES (Collaborative Approaches to Resilience, Education, and Support) prioritizes understanding and responding to the impact of trauma on individuals and communities. This foundation not only informs our partnerships but also shapes our trainings and capacity-building efforts.

ICOY’s Trauma Initiatives Team is distributed among a number of projects and contracts, one of which being CARES. ICOY CARES is dedicated to collaboration internally and externally. Each member of ICOY’s Trauma Initiatives team has a unique specialty and skillset. To provide the best services, CARES will sometimes use a co-facilitation model to bring you the most personalized expertise our team has to offer. The team works together to analyze and update training decks to meet the specific needs of each client, whether that be focusing on the organization, the audience, or the community they serve, in regard to trauma and healing. This collaboration helps support not only the goals and mission of ICOY CARES, but of each organization we partner with. Director of Trauma Initiatives Gabriela Zamora, Trauma Specialist Grace Shine, and Trauma Specialist Pearl McRae will also support the CARES Team on an as-needed basis.
