IDHS Trauma Training: Culture and Trauma
March 17 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Trauma has context. That context oftentimes has cultural and historical roots. This training will explore the relationship between trauma and culture by looking specifically at populations who are at high risk for experiencing trauma. Participants will also learn about the ways power and oppression impact trauma and access to resources. Lastly, participants will learn about the resilience and protective factors this communities have built to combat trauma.
Two continuing education units (CEUs) will be available for Social Work and Professional Counseling License participants. If you would like to request CEUs, you may do so in the evaluation sent after completing this training.
Trainers: Jocelyn Vega, Heshima Mance, Gabriela Zamora
**Effective July 1, 2022, ICOY has updated our attendance policy to capture attendance and participation in our training as accurately as possible.
Please note: failure to follow these guidelines may result in attendees’ participation being marked as incomplete and render them ineligible to receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or Certificates of Attendance (COAs). Review the complete details of the policy here.
** ON THE DAY OF THE TRAINING, if there are issues connecting, or if registrants cannot be active during the entirety of the training, they must reach out to the Training Team at firstname.lastname@example.org. ICOY will not recognize attendance for those that fail to communicate any discrepancies, and these registrants will not receive CEUs or a Certificate of Attendance
