Cameron Zelaya

Senior Policy Analyst

Cameron joined ICOY in July of 2020. He graduated with a BA in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign in 2012 and followed it up with a Master of Public Administration, with a concentration in Public Management, from DePaul University in 2019. In between, he served as an intern for Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), Congressman Ami Bera (D-CA-6), and the City of Chicago’s Bureau of Historic Preservation. At ICOY, Cameron tracks State and Federal child welfare legislation as well as State administrative rules. He is also the policy point-person on juvenile justice issues. A few of Cameron’s favorite things are snow, ice skating, candles, musicals, and running along the lake.
