IDHS Trauma Training: Culture & Trauma
October 20 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Trauma has context. That context oftentimes has cultural and historical roots. This training will explore the relationship between trauma and culture by looking specifically at populations who are at high risk for experiencing trauma and traumatic stress at the hands of the systems and society exist in. Additionally, participants will gain understanding about the ways power and oppression impact individuals, communities, and access to resources. Lastly, participants will learn about the resilience and protective factors these communities have built to cope with trauma, historically and presently.
Two continuing education credits will be offered for this training. If you would like to request CEUs, you may do so in the evaluation sent after completing this training.
